The Roam app

Roam web app · Lost & Found

Every Roam has a way home.

The Roam app links the QR code on your tracker or sticker to you. If your item is lost, anyone who finds it can scan the code and get in touch, without an app or an account.

Runs in your phone's browser. Nothing to install.
Location tracking uses Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, paired separately.

How to use the app

Set up each item once. It takes about two minutes.

1

Create your account

Sign up with your name, email and a password, then confirm your email address.

2

Scan your Roam's QR code

Use your phone's camera inside the app. The code is linked to your account and can't be claimed by anyone else.

3

Add the item's details

Name the item, choose a category, add a photo and the contact details a finder should use. Leave a note, such as care instructions or allergy information for a pet.

What you can do in the app

Manage everything from your phone.

See all your items

One list of every registered tracker and sticker, with its photo and details.

Switch on Lost Mode

Mark an item as lost. Finders who scan it see that it's missing and how to reach you.

Get scan alerts

You get an email when someone scans your item, including any message they leave.

Edit details any time

Update the name, photo, contact email, phone and finder note when things change.

Share with a co-owner

Invite a family member by name and email so they can help look after your items.

Control your account

Update your profile, reset your password, or delete your account and its data.

When someone finds your item

The finder doesn't need the app.

  1. They scan the QR code with any phone camera.
  2. A finder page opens with the item's name, photo and your note.
  3. They send you a message. If Lost Mode is on, they can also reach you by WhatsApp or email.
  4. They can choose to share their location, or say they've left it at a lost and found desk.

Questions

Do I need to download anything?

No. The Roam app runs in your phone's web browser at app.roamsmarttracker.com. Signing in works on a computer too, but scanning and managing items is designed for a phone.

Does the app show where my tracker is?

No. Location comes from Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, which you pair separately. The Roam app handles QR Lost & Found: your item details, Lost Mode and messages from finders.

What does a finder see?

The item's name, photo and your note. Your name and the item's contact email and phone appear only while Lost Mode is on.

I forgot my password.

Choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a reset link.
