Why does my Roam Tracker sometimes beep on its own?

Updated on Sep 24, 2025

The beeping you’re noticing isn’t a fault — it’s part of the built-in safety system from Apple and Google, designed to prevent misuse (for example, someone secretly placing a tracker on another person).

It can sometimes trigger during normal use when:

  • Your phone goes out of Bluetooth range, or Bluetooth is briefly turned off.
  • The tracker is moving without being near its paired phone (the system assumes it may be “following” someone).
  • Small vibrations or movement (e.g., in a bag) occur after the tracker has been idle for a while.

⚠️ This feature cannot be disabled as it is controlled by Apple and Google. The good news: it does not affect tracking or normal use — it’s simply the safety alert system working as intended.
